MIT R&D AI Collaboration Projects Grant Now Open for Applications

The MIT R&D Collaboration Projects for Artificial Intelligence (AI) grant program is now open for applications. This subsidy is specifically designed for collaborating SMEs that are developing innovative AI solutions or enhancing existing products, processes, or services through AI implementation.

Key Requirements

To qualify for this subsidy, projects must fall within the Artificial Intelligence subtheme, which means:

  • Contributing to the development and application of generative AI and/or machine learning
  • Incorporating an approach focused on reliable and human-centered AI

2025 Application Period

Applications can be submitted until May 27, 2025, 17:00.

Funding Details

  • Subsidy rate: 35% of eligible costs
  • Maximum subsidy per project: €350,000
  • Projects must be technologically innovative for the market

Regular MIT R&D Program

The standard MIT R&D instrument will also be open for submissions from June 10 until September 16, 2025. The general conditions for the AI-specific call are identical to those of the regular program.

Applications are evaluated through a tender procedure that prioritizes project proposal quality.

AI-Specific Call

Each year, a specific AI call is opened alongside the general call. To qualify for this AI-focused subsidy, projects must fit within the Artificial Intelligence subtheme of the Digital Key Technology, with the requirements as outlined above.

The AI-specific application period runs from April 8 to May 27, 2025.
